Down-to-earth Spreewald fare garnished with traditional wisdom is served at the country restaurant. The menu includes soups such as Solyanka, as well as Spreewald-style herb curd and the inn’s signature dish: hand-filled stuffed cabbage. Seafood dishes are also available. A typical Spreewald ‘Plinse’ pancake is perfect for dessert. Guests can choose between the plain variety with butter, sugar and cinnamon or fancier toppings such as vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
The building is also home to the herb manufactory, where Peter Franke is happy to give interested visitors a tour of the herb landscape of Spreewald Forest. The gathered herbs are used in cooking and for teas.
Food is served in the cosy and modern inside area of the restaurant, or on the spacious outdoor terrace and in the hotel’s courtyard.
