Tourist attractions

Floral splendour and garden art: this is what many people associate with Luckau. Not least since the State Horticultural Show in 2000, the town in southern Brandenburg has become a magnet for many visitors. The almost completely preserved town wall and the water-bearing moat are what give the historic old town centre its distinctive atmosphere.

The Baroque facades of the two and three-storey gabled houses on Luckau market square are equally charming, making this a wonderful spot to visit. When you stroll through this attractive town, also look out for the late Romanesque chapel of St. George with its 49-metre tower – the Hausmannsturm – and the church of St. Nicholas dating back to the late 13th Century.

If you are interested in the history of the town, the Lower Lusatia Museum is the place to go; meanwhile nature lovers will be drawn to the Lower Lusatian Ridge Nature Park. Höllberghof is located in Langengrassau, very near Luckau. Whether with or without children: this is an unforgettable place to visit – a farm built according to a historical model. With its three-sided farmyard, half-timbered barn and bakehouse, this is a place where rural customs are very much kept alive. Numerous permanent exhibitions and varied events are also dedicated to environmental protection, providing information about the environment-friendly use of natural resources.
