The very clear lake Waldsee is about four kilometres long. It is located in a densely forested area and has a winding shape with three basins. In the northern part, there is a little island that can be reached from the shore. The lake is between 20 and 250 metres wide. The individual basins are connected by canals. There are many coves along the shore that are good fishing spots. The road L452 crosses the lake at its centre. The water is easily accessible from here. A special permission is required to drive on the forest paths. Vehicles must only be parked in the designated areas. Those who do not have permission to drive on the forest paths, may need to cover long distances on foot. Fishing from non-motorised boats is permitted.
