Stages

The chamber stage of the state theatre Cottbus is located in a building that was used for events during the GDR era: ‘Haus der Bauarbeiter’ (‘building workers’ house’). It was turned into a chamber theatre between 1997 and 1999 and was opened ceremoniously with a production of Goethe’s play ‘Clavigo’. The ‘Kammerbühne’ has since been a multi-functional theatre for drama, musical theatre and dancing, as well as for hosted events such as ‘Theatertreff’ (‘theatre meet-up’) and ‘Kaffeeklatsch mit Prominenten’ (‘coffee party with celebrities’).
