The Peitzer Land region is located on the edge of Spreewald Forest. The flat landscape is characterised by forests, meadows, carp ponds, bathing lakes, active open-cast mining and re-cultivated landscapes. The area is streaked by a well-developed cycle path network that is ideal for exploring the fisher and fortress town Peitz and the seven surrounding villages. There are many interesting sights waiting to be discovered, such as the ironworks and fishery museum at the Peitz Teiche pond area, the fortress tower in the historic town centre, or the Wendish-German local history museum in Jänschwalde. A visit to the Teichland adventure park with its 18 exciting attractions is fun for the whole family.
