Kitesurfing on Schwielochsee

The oblong shape of Lake Schwielochsee and its location provide for ideal wind conditions for surfers. Kitesurfers in particular enjoy the strong wind that easily inflates their kites. The district of Speichrow is a local kitesurfing hub. Free parking near the shore is available around the lake, so surfers don’t need to walk far to get to the water.  
Lake Schwielochsee is Brandenburg’s biggest natural lake. The long and narrow lake was formed in the Weichselian Ice Age. The characteristic elongated shape was created by glaciers and melt water.
