The 66 Lakes Trail is Brandenburg's most famous hiking trail and is marked with a blue dot on a white background. The 400 km circular trail around Berlin is divided into 17 stages and leads through forests, meadows, lakes and rivers – far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Along the way, hikers can observe the local wildlife, enjoy picturesque viewpoints and take a refreshing dip in summer or go for a peaceful walk through winter landscapes.
The 66 Lakes Trail isn’t just for nature lovers – it also leads through charming historic towns and villages with old churches, barns, and farmyards. Along the way, picnic spots invite you to rest, and local restaurants offer regional specialties.
With almost no steep sections, the trail is ideal for beginners and can easily be split into day hikes. You can join the route anywhere, and both the start and finish are conveniently accessible by public transport from Berlin.
