This romantic route takes you along the lakes, some in sleepy spots in the forest.
Length: Short variant 20 kilometres, about 5 – 6 hours pure walking time; long version 26 kilometres, about 6 – 7 hours pure walking time; without Lake Schwanensee and observation tower 17 kilometres, about 4-5 hours pure walking time.

Route description/points of interest:
The stunning Lake Köthener See has one of the best bathing areas in the whole of Brandenburg. On your hike to Märkisch Buchholz along the Dahme flood canal you can find the only waterfall in Brandenburg: an artificial weir. This tour also takes you through long stretches of forest where you can enjoy the solitude and remoteness of nature. Later on, you can climb up the Wehlabergturm tower.
