The state-approved resort Goyatz lies just outside Spreewald Forest and it can look back on a long history of tourism. The region is ideal for a wide range of recreational activities, thanks to the network of cycling, riding and hiking trails, and the many lakes with their bathing areas. Popular activities in winter include ice skating and ice sailing. The attractively restored former train station building is home to the local tourist information centre. Visitors to the region will receive advice for their stay here.
The tourist information centre’s services include free arrangement and booking of accommodation on the campsites around Lake Schwielochsee. The service range also includes the organisation of day trips for travel groups and custom arrangements for individual travellers.
Free information material regarding various activities and hiking and cycling maps for sale are available at the tourist information centre, too. Visitors can also buy tickets for events in the region and souvenirs. Furthermore, there is a bicycle rental service.
Detailed information is also provided about the 54 kilometre long Leichhardt-Trail from Trebatsch to Branitz near Cottbus.
