This day tour takes you through the 1,000-hectare Peitz pond landscape and through the enchanting Spreewald to the historic town centres of Peitz, Lübbenau and Luckau.
It begins in the fishing and fortress town of Peitz with its medieval fortress tower and the museum of ironworks and fisheries. The tour continues to the heart of the Spreewald to Lübbenau: according to Fontane, this was the “secret capital of the Spreewald” with its winding old streets and squares, Lübbenau Palace and the Spreewald Museum.
The final destination is the historic town centre of Luckau with its virtually completely preserved town wall, water-bearing moat and unusual town houses with richly adorned Renaissance gables.
